Summary

Goal: View usage analytics and engagement metrics across projects and users in your Braintrust organization to understand tool adoption and support needs. Features: Projects page for aggregate metrics, Experiments tab filtering by creator, and the Monitor page for custom dashboards and time-series analysis.

View Project-Level Metrics

Navigate to the Projects page to see organization-wide project metrics. This page lists all projects that the logged-in user has read access to and displays aggregate information including experiment counts, log counts, and other activity metrics per project. Available metrics:
  • Number of experiments per project
  • Number of logs per project
  • Last activity timestamps
  • Overall project health indicators

View User-Level Metrics

For user-level insights, navigate into a specific project’s Experiments tab. Use the Creator filter to view experiments created by individual users. This allows you to track user engagement and activity on a per-user basis within each project. To filter by creator:
  1. Open a project and navigate to the Experiments tab
  2. Click on the filter controls
  3. Select Creator from the available filters
  4. Choose specific users to view their experiment activity

Check Billing Usage (Pro Plans)

For detailed billing-level usage information, navigate to Settings > Billing to access the usage report. This provides consumption metrics relevant to your plan tier. Learn more: Pricing FAQ

Current Limitations

Note: There is currently no dedicated admin dashboard or pre-configured Monitor chart specifically for user engagement metrics (e.g., Daily Active Users, weekly experiment additions by user). This is a known feature request with multiple customers expressing interest. Workarounds:
  • Use the Projects page for high-level project insights
  • Use Experiments tab filtering for granular user activity data
  • Build custom Monitor dashboards with time-series grouping
  • Export data via the API for external analysis

Use Case

Organizations need visibility into how team members are adopting and using Braintrust tools. Surface-level analytics help administrators:
  • Identify which users are actively engaging with the platform
  • Track project activity trends over time
  • Ensure users are properly supported without making assumptions
  • Make data-driven decisions about training and support needs
  • Measure the effectiveness of tool rollouts and adoption initiatives
